HubSpot Unveils Major Agentic AI Platform Overhaul With New Breeze Assistant

HubSpot (NYSE: HUBS) introduced what it calls its most significant product release in years, rebuilding key parts of its customer platform around agentic AI. The Fall ’26 Spotlight includes a redesigned Breeze Assistant, a self-updating Smart CRM and a new Context Home designed to give AI agents continuously updated business and customer information.

The new Breeze Assistant moves beyond answering questions and can take actions on behalf of users, automatically assigning specialized AI agents to tasks such as creating campaigns, prospecting, preparing reports and developing sales proposals. Its actions are grounded in data stored in HubSpot’s CRM.

HubSpot is also expanding AI across marketing and sales workflows. Marketing Studio can identify opportunities and use specialized agents to build and personalize campaigns, while the upgraded Prospecting Agent monitors more than 40 buying signals. New tools can automatically capture meetings, update CRM records, prepare follow-ups and generate customer quotes.

The release strengthens HubSpot’s push to evolve from traditional CRM software toward an agentic customer platform, potentially increasing the value of its existing customer data by allowing AI agents to execute more sales, marketing and service workflows directly within HubSpot.
HubSpot Tumbles 20% Pre-Market as Revenue Guidance Miss and AI Pricing Transition Alarm Investors

Cambridge, May 8, 2026 — Shares in HubSpot plunged 20% in pre-market trading, extending steep after-hours losses, after the customer platform company beat Q1 expectations across every metric but delivered forward guidance that fell meaningfully short of analyst estimates — compounded by an unusually candid disclosure that April got off to a slow start due to an internal sales disruption tied to its AI pricing transition.

The Q1 results themselves were strong. Revenue grew 23% to $881 million, beating analyst estimates of $862.8 million. Non-GAAP EPS of $2.72 beat the $2.47 consensus by 10%. Non-GAAP operating margin expanded 380 basis points to 17.8%, and the company surpassed 299,000 customers. On paper, it was a clean beat.

The problem was Q2 guidance. Revenue of $897 to $898 million implies 18% growth but came in well below the analyst consensus of approximately $917 million — a miss of roughly $19 million at the midpoint that spooked investors already wary of deceleration. Full-year revenue guidance of $3.70 to $3.708 billion was similarly about $70 million below what analysts had modeled.

What amplified the selloff was management's explanation of why. HubSpot is transitioning to AI agent-based and outcome-based pricing — a structural change that requires customer education and extends sales cycles. In April, the company deliberately reduced sales capacity for a month to retrain its entire sales force on new Spring Spotlight products and the shift to credits-based pricing. The result, as CFO Kate Bueker acknowledged on the earnings call, was that Q2 got off to a slow start. For investors already grappling with fears that AI will commoditize HubSpot's core CRM offering, hearing that AI pricing changes are actively disrupting near-term sales velocity was precisely the wrong message.

The stock has now fallen more than 60% over the past twelve months, reflecting a market deeply skeptical about whether horizontal SaaS platforms can thrive in an AI-first world. This quarter provided little to reverse that narrative.

HubSpot, Inc. (NYSE: HUBS) reported strong fourth quarter and full year 2025 results, highlighted by double-digit revenue growth and improved profitability.

For Q4 2025, revenue rose 20% year over year to $846.7 million (18% in constant currency). Subscription revenue increased 21% to $829.0 million. GAAP operating margin improved to 5.7% from negative 1.5% a year earlier, while non-GAAP operating margin expanded to 22.6%. GAAP net income was $54.4 million, or $1.04 per diluted share, compared to $4.9 million in Q4 2024. Non-GAAP net income reached $162.5 million, or $3.09 per diluted share.

For full year 2025, revenue grew 19% to $3.13 billion (18% in constant currency). GAAP operating margin turned positive at 0.2%, compared to negative 2.6% in 2024, and non-GAAP operating margin improved to 18.6%. GAAP net income was $45.9 million, or $0.86 per diluted share, versus $4.6 million in 2024. Non-GAAP net income increased to $516.0 million, or $9.70 per diluted share.

HubSpot has introduced the Loop, a new growth playbook designed for the AI era. With 60% of Google searches ending without a click and customers spread across platforms like YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, and podcasts, the traditional funnel is no longer effective. The Loop builds on Inbound Marketing but adapts it to an environment where AI delivers answers before prospects visit websites and where personalization at scale is critical.

The Loop is dynamic, always learning and evolving, and relies on hybrid teams of humans and AI. It retains the principles of educating customers and building relationships while addressing today’s fragmented attention and AI-driven search environment.

It has four stages:
• Express: Establish brand identity and strategy with tools like Breeze Assistant, ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini connectors, and Marketing Studio.
• Tailor: Personalize messages at scale using unified customer data in Smart CRM, Segments, AI-powered landing pages, and email personalization.
• Amplify: Reach buyers across platforms and AI-driven search with AI Engine Optimization tools and Breeze Customer Agent.
• Evolve: Continuously adapt campaigns with AI-enabled prediction, measurement, and rapid experimentation.

The Loop allows businesses to launch campaigns in days rather than months, deliver more personal messaging, lower acquisition costs, and continuously improve as AI learns from each interaction.
