MAS, a subsidiary of L3Harris, and Lockheed Martin have announced a partnership to establish an F-35 aircraft sustainment depot in Quebec, strengthening Canada’s domestic defense capabilities. The facility will support maintenance and long-term upkeep of the country’s F-35 fleet, enabling greater in-country control over operations.

The collaboration includes the creation of a joint steering committee to define depot operations, workforce training, and sustainment strategies. The project is also expected to generate high-skilled aerospace jobs and support a broader industrial network of Canadian suppliers.

The depot will contribute to servicing a global fleet of over 1,300 F-35 aircraft, reinforcing supply chain capabilities and operational readiness.

Both companies said the initiative will enhance fleet performance, strengthen national defense infrastructure, and deliver economic benefits through local industry participation.
Lockheed Martin has been awarded a U.S. government contract to integrate its PAC-3 MSE missile into the Navy’s Aegis Combat System for the first time, marking a significant step in enhancing naval air and missile defense capabilities.

The PAC-3 MSE interceptor, already combat-proven and widely used by the U.S. Army and allied nations, will now be deployed on U.S. Navy warships, strengthening integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) operations.

The contract also supports ongoing efforts to accelerate production, with Lockheed Martin expected to deliver a record number of interceptors in 2026.

The integration is aimed at improving the Navy’s defensive capabilities and reinforcing broader U.S. and allied missile defense systems.
Lockheed Martin has secured a contract worth up to $105 million from the U.S. Space Force to continue modernizing the ground control segment of the Global Positioning System (GPS), reinforcing critical positioning, navigation, and timing services used worldwide.

The contract extends more than a decade of work under the Space Force’s modernization program, with Lockheed Martin responsible for supporting launch, early orbit, and disposal operations for next-generation GPS IIIF satellites, while enhancing system resilience and operational capabilities.

The upgrades are expected to strengthen the overall GPS infrastructure, improving reliability for both military and civilian users. The company also highlighted progress in next-generation satellite development, noting that GPS IIIF spacecraft will feature significantly stronger anti-jam signals and improved accuracy, further advancing the performance of the global navigation system.
Lockheed Martin, through its Sikorsky division, introduced new armed BLACK HAWK helicopter kits designed to expand mission capabilities across multiple roles.

The production-ready kits enable a single Black Hawk aircraft to perform air assault, close support, medical evacuation, intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), and tactical lift missions, reducing the need for separate specialized fleets. Operators can choose between configurations for close support or precision strike, with modular upgrades available.

The system allows rapid reconfiguration within approximately three hours, enhancing operational flexibility and mission readiness. Lockheed Martin said the solution offers cost efficiencies through a single-platform approach, supported by a long-term supply chain and lifecycle extending beyond 2070.

The kits are available via foreign military sales or direct commercial channels, supporting integration into existing Black Hawk fleets worldwide.
Lockheed Martin Corporation secured a Pentagon contract worth up to $1.9 billion to continue its C-130J Maintenance and Aircrew Training System program.

The 10-year deal covers training, logistics, and engineering support for C-130J aircraft across multiple U.S. military branches, with expanded coverage to the Navy Reserve and Coast Guard.
Lockheed Martin announced the successful return of NASA’s Artemis II mission, as its Orion spacecraft safely splashed down after completing a crewed journey around the Moon.

The mission, the first human deep-space flight in over 50 years, saw a four-person crew travel nearly 700,000 miles over 10 days, reaching a record distance of more than 252,000 miles from Earth. Orion successfully re-entered the atmosphere at speeds of about 24,000 mph, demonstrating critical systems including life support, navigation, and heat shield performance.

The milestone validates Orion’s capability for future lunar missions and supports NASA’s broader Artemis program, including upcoming missions aimed at returning astronauts to the Moon and eventually enabling human exploration of Mars.

Lockheed Martin announced the successful launch of NASA’s Orion spacecraft as part of the Artemis II mission, marking the first crewed journey toward the Moon in over five decades.

Launched aboard NASA’s Space Launch System from Kennedy Space Center, the mission carries four astronauts on a 10-day test flight that will travel nearly 250,000 miles from Earth and loop around the far side of the Moon before returning.

The Orion spacecraft includes upgraded life-support systems, advanced communications—including experimental laser links—and enhanced safety features such as a fully operational launch abort system. The mission aims to validate spacecraft performance and human health capabilities in deep space.

Lockheed Martin said the mission represents a critical step toward future crewed lunar landings and the broader goal of sustained human exploration beyond Earth orbit.
