UBS Slips 0.8% Despite Strong Q3 Profit and Wealth Management Inflows

UBS shares fell about 0.8% despite reporting strong third-quarter 2026 earnings, robust wealth-management inflows and continued progress on the Credit Suisse integration.

Net profit reached $2.7 billion, while profit before tax rose 27% year over year to $3.59 billion. On an underlying basis, pretax profit increased 14% to $4.08 billion. Reported revenue rose 5% to $13.35 billion, while underlying revenue increased 10%.

Client momentum remained strong. Global Wealth Management attracted $55.1 billion of net new assets, while underlying Global Markets revenue increased 17%, led by a 22% rise in Equities. Group invested assets reached $7.3 trillion.

UBS also continued to exceed integration targets. Gross cost savings reached $13.2 billion, and the bank now expects cumulative savings of about $13.7 billion by year-end, above its previous $13.5 billion ambition.

Capital remained solid, with a CET1 ratio of 14.7%. UBS repurchased $1.8 billion of shares during the quarter and still plans to complete its $3 billion buyback program by the time it reports fourth-quarter results.

The 0.8% decline appears to reflect caution around the outlook rather than weakness in the quarter itself. UBS expects normal seasonal moderation in fourth-quarter transaction volumes, while uncertainty over future Swiss capital requirements remains an important overhang for shareholders.
