L3Harris and Airbus US Partner on MQ-72C Unmanned Aerial Logistics Connector
L3Harris Technologies (NYSE: LHX) and Airbus U.S. Space & Defense have entered a teaming agreement to integrate L3Harris’ systems on the Airbus MQ-72C Logistics Connector, an unmanned variant of the UH-72 Lakota helicopter. This next-generation aerial platform is designed to enhance unmanned logistics capabilities for the U.S. Marine Corps.
L3Harris will provide its proven digital backbone and command-and-control nodes, supporting a modular open systems architecture. This enables fast integration of third-party and commercial hardware, maximizing operational adaptability.
According to Airbus US CEO Robert Geckle, the partnership expands operational potential in “contested and austere environments.” L3Harris ISR President Jason Lambert added that the goal is to accelerate the system’s deployment to enhance mission readiness in peer-conflict scenarios.
The platform is part of the U.S. Department of Defense’s Aerial Logistics Connector Rapid Prototyping Program, now in its second year, focused on building prototypes for operational demonstrations.
The MQ-72C initiative aligns with broader DoD strategies to improve logistical support in distributed and denied environments, offering flexible, resilient solutions for the future battlefield.
