I collected my first dividend from the FDVV ETF this week. It was not much—just $12—but it felt good to see the portfolio start to generate cash. Over time, I expect these payments to grow.
I am also spending time researching QQQI. It is a relatively new ETF and clearly carries more risk, especially since it focuses on large technology companies that may be somewhat overvalued right now. Still, I plan to allocate a small portion of my portfolio to it. The annual yield of around 13% is attractive, and I believe the tech and AI rally is likely to continue for at least another couple of years. If that plays out, QQQI could contribute meaningfully to overall returns.
In the last two months, I added the FDVV ETF, Vici Properties, Main Street Capital, and Prologis to my dividend portfolio. Vici Properties and Main Street Capital pay relatively high dividends, around 6–7%. FDVV and Prologis pay around 3%, but their dividends grow at higher rates than the others.
My plan is to allocate most of my portfolio to high-dividend-yield stocks in the early years and gradually increase the share of growth-oriented stocks in later years. This approach should allow the portfolio to grow faster in the initial phase, until it reaches $100,000.
This month I added 91 CALM stock to my dividend portfolio. I bought them at $109.25. Total cost is $9,942. It closed at $100.00 on Friday, so I have an $842 loss.
Altria Group is still in the dividend portfolio. On Friday, Altria closed at 64.89. Profit is $68.83 (9.32%) in 58 days. Not bad ;)
Total value of the portfolio is $9,907. It is a 7.2% loss.
I have payments for the kids' school in the next 3 months, hope to buy more dividend stocks in 2026.
Altria group, the only stock in my dividend portfolio, has released earnings report today. Sales and income increased more than expected. So, the stock price increased 3.61% today. Total value of my portfolio is 759.68$. Portfolio profit is 26.75$ (3.6%) in 8 days. Not bad;)
So, today I started my US dividend investments by buying 12.44 Altria Group stocks.
Bought for $59.35. Total investment $738.
End of day: $59.82. Total: $742.
Hope to share excel sheets soon.
