U.S. Stock Futures Advance as Earnings Optimism and Middle East De-escalation Lift Sentiment

U.S. stock futures traded higher as investors looked ahead to another busy week of corporate earnings while welcoming signs of easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

Nasdaq futures led the gains, rising 1.19%, while S&P 500 futures added 0.63% and Dow futures advanced 0.48%. The stronger performance in Nasdaq futures reflected continued optimism toward technology and artificial intelligence-related stocks.

Investor sentiment has been supported by a strong start to the second-quarter earnings season. Major U.S. banks, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo, reported better-than-expected quarterly results, highlighting resilient consumer activity, robust investment banking fees, and strong trading revenue despite a mixed macroeconomic backdrop.

Markets also continue to benefit from last week’s softer-than-expected U.S. inflation data, which strengthened expectations that the Federal Reserve could begin lowering interest rates later this year. Lower borrowing costs would likely provide additional support for equity valuations, particularly in growth-oriented sectors.

Geopolitical developments also remain in focus. Investor sentiment improved after the United States halted its military attacks on Iran, reducing concerns that the conflict could escalate into a broader regional confrontation. The de-escalation has helped ease fears over global energy supplies, contributing to a pullback in oil prices from last week’s highs and supporting broader risk appetite.

As U.S. cash markets prepare to reopen later on Monday, investors will closely monitor another wave of corporate earnings, particularly from technology and industrial companies, along with any new developments on U.S. trade policy, Federal Reserve expectations, and geopolitical events that could influence market direction.
