Rockwell Automation Falls 9% as Fiscal 2027 Outlook Disappoints Despite Strong Q4 Results
Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK) shares fell about 9% despite reporting stronger fourth-quarter earnings and margins, as investors appeared to focus on a more modest fiscal 2027 growth outlook.
Fourth-quarter sales increased 1% to $2.33 billion, while organic sales rose 3%. Adjusted EPS increased 16% to $3.88, and enterprise operating margin expanded to 24.5% from 21.3% a year earlier.
For the full fiscal year, sales rose 8% to $8.99 billion, adjusted EPS increased 27% to $13.42, and free cash flow climbed 25% to $1.70 billion.
Rockwell expects fiscal 2027 reported sales growth of 4.5%-7.5% and organic growth of 6%-9%. Adjusted EPS is projected at $14.50-$15.50, implying a slower pace of earnings growth than the 27% increase delivered in fiscal 2026.
The 9% decline appears to reflect concern that fiscal 2027 growth may moderate after a strong 2026, while tariff refund effects also complicate comparisons despite continued margin improvement and solid cash generation.
