Rockwell Automation Expands Industrial AI With Plex QMS and VisionAI Integration
Rockwell Automation (NYSE: ROK) announced a new integration between its Plex Quality Management System and FactoryTalk Analytics VisionAI, expanding the company’s use of artificial intelligence across manufacturing operations.
The API-enabled integration brings AI-powered visual inspection directly into quality-management workflows. Manufacturers can use existing or new camera systems to identify anomalies and defects while automatically recording inspection results in Plex QMS, improving traceability, product serialization and inspection history.
The launch is part of Rockwell’s broader push into AI-driven industrial automation. The company is expanding AI and machine-learning capabilities across cloud-based manufacturing execution systems, edge AI, digital twins and connected-worker applications.
Rockwell has also introduced AI-powered tools within Plex Connected Worker and its Reporting and Analytics platform, including agents that can generate work instructions from technical assets and analyze operational data using natural-language interactions.
The development strengthens Rockwell’s positioning around industrial AI as manufacturers increasingly seek to automate quality control and move from traditional rule-based automation toward more adaptive, data-driven production systems.
