Schneider National reported weaker-than-expected results for the fourth quarter of 2025 as softer market conditions and a shortened peak season weighed on volumes and profitability.
The company posted operating revenues of $1.4 billion in the quarter, up from $1.3 billion a year earlier, but income from operations declined to $36.5 million from $42.4 million. Diluted earnings per share fell to $0.13 from $0.18, while adjusted diluted EPS also came in at $0.13 compared with $0.20 in the prior year. Management cited muted demand starting in November, higher third-party carrier costs, unplanned customer shutdowns, and rising healthcare expenses as key headwinds, partly offset by some improvement late in December.
For the full year, Schneider generated operating revenues of $5.67 billion and adjusted EBITDA of $617.5 million. Looking ahead, the company issued full-year 2026 adjusted diluted EPS guidance of $0.70 to $1.00 and net capital expenditures guidance of $400 to $450 million. Schneider also highlighted ongoing cost savings initiatives, growth in dedicated and intermodal services, and continued capital returns through dividends and a newly authorized $150 million share repurchase program.
