Corning Incorporated and Meta Platforms, Inc. announced a multiyear agreement of up to $6 billion to accelerate the buildout of advanced data centers in the United States to support Meta’s applications, technologies, and AI infrastructure. Under the agreement, Corning will supply Meta with its latest optical fiber, cable, and connectivity solutions designed for the high density and scale requirements of next-generation AI data centers.

To support the partnership, Corning will significantly expand its manufacturing capacity in North Carolina, including a major expansion at its optical cable facility in Hickory, where Meta will act as the anchor customer. The investment is expected to increase Corning’s employment in the state by 15–20 percent and sustain a highly skilled workforce of more than 5,000 employees, strengthening domestic supply chains and U.S.-based advanced manufacturing.
