NTT DOCOMO Launches ¥15 Billion Innovation Fund IV to Boost Startup Partnerships
NTT DOCOMO, Inc., together with NTT DOCOMO Ventures, Inc. and NTT FINANCE CORPORATION, announced the establishment of the DOCOMO Innovation Fund IV, a new corporate venture capital fund with a total size of 15 billion yen. The fund will be formally launched on January 1, 2026, and will be managed by NTT DOCOMO Ventures.
The new fund builds on DOCOMO’s long-running startup investment strategy, following three previous funds launched in 2013, 2017, and 2022, which collectively focused on partnering with startups offering innovative technologies and business models. DOCOMO Innovation Fund IV is designed to support the group’s growth strategy for the 2030s through open innovation, both in Japan and internationally.
With a planned duration of 10 years, the fund will target startups capable of creating new businesses and contributing to societal transformation through collaboration with the NTT DOCOMO Group. Investments are expected to support medium- to long-term business creation and deeper co-creation initiatives across the group’s ecosystem.
DOCOMO and its venture arm stated that the new fund will further accelerate collaboration with promising startups, aiming to generate new value and address social challenges through innovation.
