American Tower Reaches Payment Agreement with AT&T Mexico Amid Arbitration
American Tower Corporation (NYSE: AMT) announced it has reached an agreement with AT&T Mexico regarding withheld tower rents tied to an ongoing arbitration. AT&T Mexico, which accounted for about $300 million of tenant revenue in 2024, had been withholding payments since early 2025.
Under the deal, AT&T Mexico will remit most of the withheld rent and resume regular monthly payments for the majority of its tower leases. Remaining receivables and unpaid future rent will be placed into an irrevocable escrow account managed by an independent trustee, to be released based on either a final arbitration ruling or mutual consent.
The agreement provides American Tower with renewed cash flow from one of its largest Mexican customers while the arbitration process continues.
