General Dynamics Wins U.S. Navy Contract for Additional DDG 51 Destroyer
General Dynamics Bath Iron Works, a division of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), announced that the U.S. Navy has exercised an option to purchase an additional Arleigh Burke-class (DDG 51) destroyer under the multi-year contract awarded in 2023.
President Charles F. Krugh credited the Bath Iron Works team for construction improvements and acknowledged Congressional support in securing the ship through the FY2025 Defense Appropriations Bill.
Bath Iron Works is currently building several destroyers, including both Flight IIA and Flight III variants. General Dynamics employs over 110,000 people worldwide and reported $47.7 billion in revenue for 2024.
