Cadence Design Systems Restores Access to EDA Software After Export Restrictions Rescinded
San Jose, July 3, 2025 – Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: CDNS) announced that the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has rescinded export license requirements previously imposed on May 23, 2025. These restrictions had limited the company’s ability to export, re-export, or transfer certain electronic design automation (EDA) software and technology classified under ECCNs 3D991 and 3E991, particularly in transactions involving China or Chinese military end users.
With the restrictions now lifted effective immediately, Cadence is actively working to restore access to its EDA software for affected customers in compliance with updated export regulations.
The company noted potential risks including challenges in re-engaging affected customers, future regulatory changes, and broader geopolitical uncertainties, all of which could impact its operations and customer relationships.
