IDEXX Laboratories Reports Q1 2025 Results and Raises Full-Year Outlook
IDEXX Laboratories reported first quarter 2025 revenue growth of 4% as reported and 5% organically, driven by continued strength in its Companion Animal Group (CAG) Diagnostics recurring revenue, which rose 3% as reported and 4.5% organically. Growth was supported by strong execution, including robust new business gains and global expansion of its premium instrument base, with over 300 placements of the new IDEXX inVue Dx™ system.
The company reported earnings per share (EPS) of $2.96, marking a 5% increase as reported and a 7% increase on a comparable basis. Margin improvements contributed to this growth, with gross margin expanding 90 basis points as reported and 80 basis points on a comparable basis.
IDEXX updated its 2025 guidance, raising revenue expectations to a range of $4.095 billion to $4.210 billion—an increase of approximately $40 million at the midpoint—largely due to improved foreign exchange outlooks. Full-year revenue growth is now projected at 5% to 8%, with organic revenue growth expectations held steady at 6% to 9%. CAG Diagnostics recurring revenue growth is forecasted at 4% to 7% reported, and 5% to 8% organically.
EPS guidance for 2025 has been raised to $11.93 to $12.43, up $0.19 from the prior forecast, supported by FX benefits and a favorable resolution of a litigation-related expense.
