Comfort Systems USA Reports Record Q1 2025 Earnings and Backlog Surge

HOUSTON, April 24, 2025 — Comfort Systems USA, Inc. (NYSE: FIX) announced outstanding first-quarter results, posting net income of $169.3 million, or $4.75 per diluted share, a 75% increase compared to the prior-year quarter. Revenue rose 19% year-over-year to $1.83 billion, while adjusted EBITDA grew 43% to $242.7 million, or 13.3% of revenue.

The company’s backlog reached a record $6.89 billion, up from $5.99 billion at year-end and $5.91 billion a year ago, driven by strong same-store growth of nearly $930 million. CEO Brian Lane highlighted these achievements as a sign of “world-class execution” and a “promising start to 2025,” noting the quarter was historically the company’s weakest.

While Comfort Systems reported operating cash outflows of $88 million, due to expected working capital adjustments, management expressed confidence in strong earnings and cash flow prospects for the remainder of 2025 and into 2026.

The company declared a $0.40 per share quarterly dividend, up from $0.25 in the prior-year period.
