O'Reilly Automotive reports first quarter 2025 results
O’Reilly Automotive reported first quarter 2025 revenue of $4.14 billion, up 4% from $3.98 billion a year earlier. Comparable store sales rose 3.6%, with mid-single digit growth in professional sales and low-single digit growth in DIY. Gross profit increased to $2.12 billion, or 51.3% of sales.
Operating income decreased 1% to $741 million, and net income declined 2% to $538 million. Despite this, diluted earnings per share rose 2% to $9.35 due to a lower share count.
O’Reilly opened 38 net new stores during the quarter and reaffirmed its full-year comparable store sales growth forecast of 2.0% to 4.0%. The company cited continued strength in demand and solid execution by its over 93,000 team members.
Operating cash flow for the quarter was $755 million. O’Reilly repurchased 0.4 million shares for $559 million during the quarter, and an additional 0.1 million shares for $122 million post-quarter. Total repurchases since 2011 have reached 96.5 million shares, totaling $25.94 billion. As of the release date, $1.81 billion remained under the current repurchase authorization.
