Fortinet and Equinix Launch AI Security Architecture for Distributed Enterprise Workloads
Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT) and Equinix announced the availability of FortiAIGate on the Equinix Distributed AI Hub, creating a validated architecture designed to secure and govern AI workloads across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
The architecture allows enterprises to inspect AI traffic, enforce security policies, protect sensitive data and maintain visibility across models, agents, applications and cloud infrastructure. FortiAIGate has been validated as an AI security guardrail within the Equinix Distributed AI Hub.
The companies said the platform can apply controls to prompts and responses, monitor per-token AI costs, support data-sovereignty requirements and provide visibility into both approved and unsanctioned AI usage.
Fortinet also said GPU acceleration, including NVIDIA hardware, can support AI traffic inspection without affecting workload performance. The broader deployment integrates FortiAIGate with Fortinet’s AI-Native Security Fabric and existing FortiGate capabilities on Equinix Network Edge.
The partnership positions Fortinet to capture growing demand for AI-specific cybersecurity as enterprises move from isolated AI pilots toward distributed production environments spanning multiple clouds, data centers and geographic regions.
