Plains All American Falls 2.6% Despite Solid Q3 Results as Guidance Offers Limited Upside
Plains All American Pipeline (NASDAQ: PAA) shares fell about 2.6% despite reporting solid third-quarter results and reaffirming its full-year 2026 adjusted EBITDA outlook.
Third-quarter net income attributable to PAA was $363 million, while operating cash flow totaled $669 million. Adjusted EBITDA reached $711 million.
The company maintained full-year adjusted EBITDA guidance of $2.88 billion, plus or minus $50 million, with crude oil growth expected to contribute roughly $370 million versus 2025.
Plains also continued expanding its Permian footprint, adding approximately 270,000 dedicated acres in the Midland Basin under 10-year agreements, and recently completed its $585 million Silver Creek acquisition in the Powder River Basin.
Balance sheet optimization is expected to add about $60 million, or $0.09 per unit, of annual distributable cash flow to common unitholders, while the quarterly distribution remains $0.4175 per unit.
The 2.6% decline appears to reflect limited upside from unchanged full-year guidance and ongoing sensitivity to the crude oil macro environment, despite solid operations, new growth projects and improving capital efficiency.
