Snowflake Expands Agentic AI Push With CoCo and CoWork Bots
Snowflake (NYSE: SNOW) unveiled a major expansion of its enterprise AI platform at Snowflake Expedition 2026, introducing new autonomous capabilities for CoCo and CoWork designed to let AI agents perform recurring work across business applications with less human intervention.
The company introduced CoCo and CoWork Bots, which are designed to operate continuously in the background, execute tasks using a user’s existing permissions and surface work only when a decision or approval is required. Snowflake is positioning the products as an evolution from prompt-based AI assistants toward autonomous enterprise agents.
Adoption of Snowflake’s existing agent products is already substantial. The company said CoWork is used by more than 5,800 accounts and CoCo by more than 9,100, while Snowflake serves more than 14,500 enterprises globally.
Additional features include recurring workflow automations, integrations with Slack and spreadsheets, mobile access, organizational memory and shared AI skills. Snowflake also introduced Cortex Training, allowing companies to customize open-weight AI models using proprietary data within its governed environment.
The announcement strengthens Snowflake’s strategy of positioning its data platform as the control layer for enterprise AI agents. By combining corporate data, governance and autonomous workflows, the company is seeking to increase the number of AI workloads running directly inside Snowflake and deepen customer dependence on its platform.
