Atlassian Introduces Context Quality Score to Improve AI Performance Across Cloud Products

Atlassian (NASDAQ: TEAM) introduced Context Quality Score, a new metric designed to help organizations assess whether their internal data and knowledge are sufficiently complete, connected and relevant for AI systems and agents.

The new feature evaluates three dimensions of AI context: completeness, connectedness and relevance. It is designed to identify gaps in the information available through Atlassian’s Teamwork Graph and provide recommended actions to improve the quality of that context.

Atlassian said poor contextual information can limit AI performance even when the underlying model is capable. For example, a coding agent may generate functional code while still missing internal design decisions, security requirements or other team-specific constraints.

The company cited its 2026 State of Teams research, which found that 69% of knowledge workers believe their organizations’ data and knowledge foundations are not optimized for AI.

Context Quality Score is expected to become generally available next quarter for all Atlassian Cloud customers. The feature is intended to support broader adoption of AI agents by helping enterprises improve the reliability and usefulness of the organizational context those agents can access.

The announcement strengthens Atlassian’s positioning around AI-enabled collaboration and productivity. While it does not include a direct financial forecast, the feature could increase the value of Atlassian’s cloud platform as enterprises deploy more AI agents across software development, service management and knowledge-work workflows.
