Lockheed Martin Wins Philippine Air Force Contract for S-70i Black Hawk Training Systems
Lockheed Martin signed a Direct Commercial Sale contract with the Philippine Department of National Defense to provide S-70i Black Hawk training systems and related services to the Philippine Air Force.
The contract includes a full-flight simulator, a virtual maintenance trainer and associated courseware, giving the Philippine Air Force the ability to train pilots and maintainers domestically as its Black Hawk fleet expands.
The full-flight simulator uses a digital twin of the S-70i to replicate the aircraft’s flight characteristics, while the virtual maintenance trainer provides immersive, physics-based simulations of systems ranging from hydraulics to avionics.
The agreement also includes sustainment and spare-parts support through 2032. Philippine pilots will continue training at Sikorsky’s U.S.-based training academy while local training capability is established.
For Lockheed Martin, the deal marks the first order for its S-70i Black Hawk training devices and expands its simulation and sustainment business in the Asia-Pacific region. It also strengthens the company’s relationship with the Philippine Air Force as the country continues broader defense modernization efforts.
