Costco September Sales Rise 13% as Comparable and Digital Sales Stay Strong
Costco reported September net sales of $30.02 billion, up 13.0% from $26.58 billion a year earlier.
Comparable sales increased 11.4% across the company, including a 12.5% gain in the U.S., 6.3% in Canada and 10.8% across other international markets. Excluding gasoline-price and foreign-exchange effects, total comparable sales rose 7.6%.
Digital momentum was particularly strong. Digitally enabled sales increased 19.0% year over year, or 19.1% excluding foreign-exchange effects.
Costco noted that the timing of Labor Day provided a modest benefit of a little more than 50 basis points to September total and comparable sales.
The results point to continued healthy traffic and spending trends across Costco’s warehouse and digital channels. The strongest signal is the combination of high-single-digit underlying comparable growth and nearly 20% digital growth, suggesting that demand remains broad-based rather than dependent on gasoline or currency effects.
For investors, the September update reinforces Costco’s defensive growth profile, with strong U.S. performance, solid international demand and continued digital expansion supporting the company’s near-term revenue momentum.
