Veeva Basics Gains Traction With More Than 175 Emerging Biotech Customers
Veeva Systems (NYSE: VEEV) said more than 175 emerging biotechnology companies are now using Veeva Basics, its pre-configured application suite designed to help smaller life sciences companies establish scalable technology infrastructure early in the drug-development process.
The platform includes applications across clinical, regulatory, quality, medical and commercial functions, with deployment designed to take weeks rather than requiring lengthy custom implementations. Veeva said the approach allows biotechs to standardize operations while reducing IT complexity and supporting future growth.
One use case highlighted by the company is regulatory publishing. Veeva Submissions Publishing Basics allows biotech companies to bring submission preparation and health-authority interactions in-house rather than relying entirely on outsourced providers, giving teams greater control over regulatory timelines and processes.
Whitehawk Therapeutics said Veeva Basics helped it replace paper-based processes without requiring a dedicated IT team or extensive customization. Structure Therapeutics similarly said bringing submission publishing in-house improved quality control and accelerated regulatory timelines.
The offering is built on Veeva’s Vault Platform, allowing customers to expand their technology infrastructure as they progress from early-stage development toward commercialization.
The milestone highlights Veeva’s growing penetration among smaller biotech companies, extending its life sciences cloud strategy beyond large pharmaceutical customers and into earlier-stage drug developers.
