Aon Selects Vanguard to Expand $7.7 Billion Pooled Employer Plan

Aon (NYSE: AON) has selected Vanguard as recordkeeper and trustee for the Aon Pooled Employer Plan, while also planning to expand the availability of Vanguard investment options within the retirement platform.

The Aon PEP has grown to approximately $7.7 billion in assets since launching in 2021 and now serves more than 160 employers and over 103,000 participants.

Aon said the changes are designed to improve participant outcomes, simplify administration and strengthen the plan’s long-term value. Vanguard will provide recordkeeping, trustee services, investment options and participant support resources.

The expanded offering is expected to include additional target-date and core index strategies, financial wellness resources and institutional-scale pricing benefits.

Aon said employers will continue to retain control over key plan design decisions, including matching contributions, eligibility requirements and vesting schedules.

The move reflects growing demand for pooled employer plans as companies seek to reduce administrative complexity while offering more competitive retirement benefits.
