Asplundh Selects Samsara to Connect Tens of Thousands of Vehicles and Equipment
Samsara (NYSE: IOT) announced that Asplundh, one of the largest private fleets in the U.S., selected its Connected Operations Platform to improve safety, fleet visibility and operational efficiency across its North American operations.
The deployment covers tens of thousands of vehicles and pieces of specialty equipment across the Asplundh family of companies. Asplundh will use Samsara AI Dash Cams, Vehicle Gateways, Powered Asset Gateways and Asset Tags to monitor vehicles, crews and equipment through a unified platform.
The system is expected to support real-time driver coaching, equipment tracking, faster dispatching and improved maintenance visibility. Samsara said its platform can also help Asplundh standardize operating metrics across its businesses and improve insurance structures by providing greater visibility into safety performance.
Asplundh employs more than 36,000 people and provides vegetation management, power-line construction, electrical testing, utility pole maintenance and other infrastructure services. The company said Samsara’s technology will help it manage risk more effectively while improving response times and asset utilization.
