Apple Launches New Mac mini and Mac Studio With M6 and M5 Ultra Chips
Apple said its latest Mac mini and Mac Studio models are now available, expanding the company’s desktop lineup with new Apple silicon aimed at stronger AI, graphics and professional computing performance.
The new Mac mini is offered with the M6 or M5 Pro chip. Apple said the M6 version delivers up to 4x faster AI performance, 2x faster graphics and storage performance, and 40% faster CPU performance compared with the prior-generation model. The M5 Pro configuration is aimed at more demanding workloads such as video production and game development.
Mac Studio now comes with M5 Max or M5 Ultra. The M5 Ultra version supports up to a 36-core CPU, an 80-core GPU and 512GB of unified memory, while Thunderbolt 5 with RDMA support allows multiple Mac Studio systems to be clustered for distributed AI inference.
Both systems are positioned heavily around on-device AI and run macOS 27, which includes Siri AI and other Apple Intelligence features. Apple is increasingly emphasizing local AI workloads, agentic workflows and large-model inference as part of its Mac strategy.
Pricing starts at $899 for Mac mini with M6 and $2,499 for Mac Studio with M5 Max. The M5 Ultra version starts at $5,499.
