IDEXX Laboratories Acquires AI Veterinary Software Company CoVet
IDEXX Laboratories (NASDAQ: IDXX) has acquired CoVetAI, an AI-powered clinical workflow software provider for veterinary practices, expanding IDEXX’s growing software and artificial intelligence ecosystem. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
CoVet uses AI-powered ambient listening to automatically capture and organize information throughout veterinary consultations, treatment planning and client follow-up. Its technology can automate SOAP notes, transcribe consultations and streamline communication with pet owners, reducing administrative work for veterinarians.
The acquisition complements IDEXX’s established veterinary diagnostics and software business. More than 10,000 clinics globally already use IDEXX cloud-based practice management systems, while the company has deployed AI across diagnostic products and clinical decision-support tools. Integrating CoVet could make patient information more accessible during clinical workflows and potentially increase diagnostic utilization.
CoVet serves tens of thousands of users across North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand and will continue supporting integrations with non-IDEXX practice management systems.
