Apollo and KKR Complete €3 Billion Capital Investment in Bayer Business
Apollo Global Management (NYSE: APO) has completed a €3 billion capital solution for Bayer, with KKR joining the transaction as a significant minority participant. The deal was initially announced in July and provides Bayer with substantial new capital while allowing it to retain control of the underlying business.
Under the transaction, Apollo-managed funds and KKR invested equity in a newly established entity holding Bayer’s long-acting reversible contraceptives (LARC) business. Bayer retains a majority stake and full operational control, with no changes planned to the business strategy.
The transaction highlights Apollo’s growing High Grade Capital Solutions business, which provides customized financing to large companies as an alternative or complement to traditional debt and equity markets. Apollo has also committed to deploying more than $100 billion in Germany over the coming decade.
For Apollo, which managed approximately $1.05 trillion in assets as of June 2026, the Bayer transaction represents another large-scale deployment of private capital into a major global company while expanding its strategic investment footprint in Germany.
