Halliburton Wins Eni Deepwater Contract for Cyprus Cronos Gas Project
Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) secured a multi-year bundled well construction and completions contract from Eni for the Cronos ultra-deepwater development in Block 6 of Cyprus’ Exclusive Economic Zone. The award expands Halliburton’s offshore presence in the Eastern Mediterranean, an emerging natural gas development region.
Under the contract, Halliburton will provide integrated drilling, well construction, automation and completion services for exploration and development wells. Combining these services under one contract is intended to reduce operational complexity and improve execution efficiency.
The scope includes drilling fluids, directional drilling, LOGIX automation and remote operations, cementing, surface well testing and coiled tubing. Halliburton will support the project using its existing infrastructure and regional capabilities in Cyprus.
The Cronos award strengthens Halliburton’s longstanding relationship with Eni and could position the company for additional deepwater work as natural gas development expands across the Eastern Mediterranean.
