FIS Wins Core Banking Business From New $100 Billion Bank and Five New Charters

FIS (NYSE: FIS) announced new core banking wins as U.S. banks increasingly launch, consolidate and modernize their technology infrastructure. The company has secured the core banking relationship for a newly formed U.S. institution with more than $100 billion in assets and signed five de novo banks during the first half of 2026.

Among the new clients is fintech company Mercury, which has received conditional approval for a national bank charter and FDIC approval for deposit insurance. Mercury, which serves more than 300,000 startups and entrepreneurs, selected FIS as the core banking platform for its planned fully licensed bank.

FIS is also benefiting from renewed U.S. bank consolidation. The company said its technology was selected to power a newly created institution with more than $100 billion in assets, highlighting its ability to support large-scale integrations following mergers and acquisitions.

Beyond new contracts, FIS is pushing an incremental modernization strategy that allows banks to add capabilities such as AI without replacing their entire core infrastructure. Two top-15 U.S. banks have already completed proofs of value using this approach.
