# Williams Completes $5.5 Billion Momentum Midstream Acquisition
Williams (NYSE: WMB) has completed its approximately $5.5 billion acquisition of Momentum Midstream, significantly expanding its natural gas infrastructure footprint in the Haynesville basin.
The transaction consists of approximately $3.5 billion in cash and debt consideration and about $2 billion in Williams equity.
## Deal Expands Gulf Coast Natural Gas Network
Momentum adds more than 4,000 miles of pipelines, over 1 million dedicated acres and 6 billion cubic feet per day of gathering capacity to Williams’ network. The assets also include processing and treating facilities and three take-or-pay pipelines with 4.05 Bcf/d of transportation capacity.
The acquisition strengthens Williams’ connection between Haynesville natural gas production and rapidly growing Gulf Coast demand from LNG export facilities, power generation and industrial customers.
Williams said Momentum’s long-term take-or-pay contracts and existing infrastructure also provide a platform for additional expansion projects.
The deal further strengthens Williams’ position as one of the largest U.S. natural gas infrastructure companies, with its existing network already handling roughly one-third of the country’s natural gas.
