PPG Launches One Range Marine Coatings to Simplify Vessel Maintenance
PPG (NYSE: PPG) announced Monday the launch of its PPG One Range portfolio, a new line of one-component marine coatings designed to simplify onboard vessel maintenance and improve application efficiency.
Introduced at the SMM 2026 maritime trade fair in Hamburg, the portfolio consists of five ready-to-use coatings that eliminate mixing requirements. PPG said the products can reduce preparation time, simplify storage and handling, and minimize coating waste for ship crews performing routine maintenance.
The portfolio includes waterborne, alkyd and polyurethane technologies for interior and exterior applications. Certain technologies also support low volatile organic compound requirements and low flame-spread certification.
PPG is also previewing its PowerPack application tool, a portable battery-powered system designed for use with the One Range coatings. The system allows crews to switch between roller and brush applications using a single unit, potentially reducing equipment changes and improving productivity.
The launch expands PPG’s offering in the protective and marine coatings market, where reducing vessel downtime and maintenance costs can be important considerations for fleet operators. By combining simpler coatings with a dedicated application system, PPG is targeting more efficient onboard maintenance while strengthening its position in specialized industrial coatings.
