Coinbase Stock Rises as Goldman Sachs Raises Price Target to $196

Coinbase Global (NASDAQ: COIN) shares gained about 3.9% on Tuesday as investors reacted to a bullish price-target increase from Goldman Sachs.

Goldman Sachs analyst James Yaro raised the firm's price target on Coinbase to $196 from $173 while maintaining a Buy rating. The new target represents about 5% upside from the stock's recent price of $186.49.

Why the Rating Report Is Positive for Coinbase

The higher target comes as sentiment toward the cryptocurrency sector improves, with Bitcoin rebounding sharply and moving back above $80,000. Stronger cryptocurrency prices typically benefit Coinbase by supporting trading activity, transaction revenue and overall engagement across its platform.

Coinbase also occupies a strategically important position in the U.S. digital-asset industry. Beyond retail and institutional crypto trading, the company has expanded into custody, stablecoins and other crypto infrastructure services, giving it broader exposure to growing institutional adoption of digital assets.

Goldman Sachs' decision to maintain its Buy rating while raising the price target therefore reinforces a positive outlook for Coinbase as crypto-market conditions improve.

With COIN already up about 3.9%, the combination of the higher Goldman Sachs target and renewed strength across cryptocurrency markets appears to be supporting Tuesday's advance.
