# Nucor (NUE) Invests $59 Million to Expand Indiana Steel Products Facility

Nucor (NYSE: NUE) announced a $59 million investment to expand its Vulcraft Indiana manufacturing facility in St. Joe, strengthening the steelmaker’s downstream production capabilities.

The expansion will add capacity to manufacture steel grating products and is expected to create 20 full-time jobs. The facility already employs more than 300 people.

## Expanding Downstream Steel Operations

The project supports Nucor’s strategy to “Grow the Core and Expand Beyond” by increasing its exposure to higher-value fabricated construction products.

Vulcraft is a major producer of steel joists, joist girders and steel decking used in nonresidential construction, including warehouses, data centers, manufacturing facilities, schools and hospitals. Its annual joist and deck production capacity is approximately 1.2 million tons.

The latest project also extends Nucor’s investment program in Indiana. Recent projects include a $290 million modernization of its Crawfordsville sheet mill and a $115 million utility infrastructure manufacturing facility.

For Nucor, the expansion should further strengthen its position in downstream construction markets while increasing its ability to benefit from demand tied to U.S. manufacturing, infrastructure and data-center development.
