IDEXX Expands Catalyst Platform With New In-Clinic Cardiac Test for Cats and Dogs
IDEXX Laboratories (NASDAQ: IDXX) announced the launch of Catalyst proBNP, a new point-of-care cardiac diagnostic test designed for both cats and dogs.
The company says Catalyst proBNP is the first dual-species in-clinic test for NT-proBNP, a biomarker used to assess heart disease. The test delivers quantitative results during a veterinary visit and will operate on IDEXX’s Catalyst platform, which has a global installed base of nearly 80,000 analyzers.
The launch also expands IDEXX into what the company estimates is an approximately $4 billion global cardiac testing opportunity. The test can support screening, diagnosis and monitoring while helping veterinarians determine when further cardiac evaluation or specialist referral may be necessary.
Catalyst proBNP is scheduled to become available in North America in October 2026, with additional international markets expected to follow.
