## Booking Holdings Stock Jumps 5% After Strong Q2 Results as Travel Demand Remains Resilient
Booking Holdings (NASDAQ: BKNG) shares climbed 5% after-hours on Tuesday after the online travel company reported strong second-quarter results, driven by resilient global travel demand, higher bookings, and improved profitability despite ongoing geopolitical and macroeconomic uncertainty.
Second-quarter gross bookings increased 9% year over year to $51.0 billion, while revenue rose 8% to $7.4 billion. Room nights reached 325 million, up 5% from a year earlier, reflecting continued healthy travel demand across the company's global platform.
Profitability also improved significantly. GAAP net income more than doubled to $2.0 billion, while adjusted net income increased 8%. Adjusted EPS rose 15% to $2.54, and adjusted EBITDA grew 9% to $2.6 billion. Operating cash flow increased 16% to $3.7 billion, with free cash flow also rising 16% to $3.6 billion.
Management highlighted continued strength in domestic travel, while noting that international demand has remained resilient despite geopolitical uncertainty. Alternative accommodation room nights increased 4%, and average daily rates also improved during the quarter.
The company also increased the expected annual run-rate savings from its Transformation Program to approximately $650 million by the end of 2027, providing additional flexibility to invest in future growth initiatives while improving operating efficiency.
Booking Holdings continued returning capital to shareholders by repurchasing $3.7 billion of stock during the quarter and announcing a quarterly dividend of $0.42 per share.
Looking ahead, management expects third-quarter room night growth of 3% to 5%, gross bookings growth of 4% to 6%, revenue growth of 4% to 6%, and low- to mid-teens adjusted EPS growth. While the company continues to monitor geopolitical tensions in the Middle East and their potential impact on international travel, it said overall travel demand has remained resilient entering the third quarter.
Investors welcomed the combination of steady travel demand, expanding profitability, robust cash generation, an improved cost-saving outlook, and continued shareholder returns, reinforcing confidence that Booking Holdings remains well positioned despite an uncertain macroeconomic backdrop.
