Arista Networks Stock Soars 12% After-Hours as Revenue Tops $3 Billion and AI Networking Demand Accelerates
Arista Networks (NYSE: ANET) shares surged 12% in after-hours trading on Tuesday after the company delivered record second-quarter results, beating the $3 billion revenue milestone for the first time while issuing strong guidance that reinforced optimism surrounding AI infrastructure spending.
Second-quarter revenue rose 37.7% year over year to a record $3.04 billion, while non-GAAP earnings per share climbed nearly 40% to $1.02. The company also expanded profitability, with non-GAAP operating margin improving to 49.9%, highlighting continued operating leverage despite rapid growth.
Management attributed the strong performance to robust demand across cloud, AI, enterprise, and campus networking. CEO Jayshree Ullal said Arista's "client-to-cloud" platform strategy continues to resonate as networking becomes the "central nervous system" of AI infrastructure.
The company also announced several AI-focused product launches during the quarter, including new 1.6 Tbps Ethernet switching platforms with liquid-cooled options designed for next-generation AI clusters. Arista also introduced new networking technologies aimed at improving the efficiency, scalability, and resilience of large AI deployments.
Looking ahead, management guided third-quarter revenue to approximately $3.3 billion, well above the just-reported quarter, while forecasting non-GAAP operating margins of 48% to 49% and non-GAAP earnings per share between $1.06 and $1.08.
The results arrive as investors remain highly optimistic about companies supplying networking infrastructure for AI data centers. Strong recent earnings from AI-related technology companies have reinforced expectations that hyperscale cloud providers will continue increasing capital spending on AI infrastructure, creating additional demand for high-performance networking equipment.
Investors welcomed Arista's combination of accelerating revenue growth, expanding margins, AI product innovation, and upbeat guidance, viewing the report as another sign that enterprise and hyperscale AI infrastructure investment remains strong.
