Cloudflare Introduces Digital Wallets and Payments for AI Agents
Cloudflare announced Cloudflare Wallets and cloudflare*pay, a new set of tools designed to give AI agents secure digital identities and the ability to make online purchases on behalf of their users.
The new platform aims to support the growing trend of agentic commerce, where AI agents can browse websites, access APIs and complete transactions autonomously. Cloudflare said the new infrastructure will allow businesses to verify who is behind an AI agent while enabling agents to transact securely within spending limits defined by their human owners.
Each Cloudflare account will receive a unique web address that serves as a persistent digital identity, which can also be extended to individual AI agents. The company is also introducing Account Wallets capable of holding stablecoins and Virtual Wallets that AI agents can use to make purchases. Users will be able to set spending caps, approved merchant lists and maximum transaction limits to maintain control over agent activity.
Cloudflare said the new payment and identity system will integrate with its Monetization Gateway, helping create a trusted infrastructure for AI-powered online commerce.
Handle reservations for Cloudflare Wallets are now open, while full wallet functionality—including funding, withdrawals and Virtual Wallet issuance—is expected to roll out in the coming months. The announcement highlights Cloudflare's continued expansion into AI infrastructure as autonomous software agents become increasingly important in digital commerce.
