Vertiv Stock Gains Despite KeyBanc Price Target Cut

Vertiv (NYSE: VRT) shares rose 2.8% on Thursday despite KeyBanc Capital Markets lowering its price target on the company, as the firm maintained its Overweight rating and continued to express confidence in Vertiv's long-term growth outlook.

KeyBanc analyst David Tarantino reduced the firm's price target to $325 from $360 while reiterating an Overweight rating. Although the lower target reflects a more conservative valuation, the maintained bullish rating suggests the firm continues to see meaningful upside in the stock.

Investor sentiment toward Vertiv remains supported by robust demand for AI infrastructure and data center power and cooling equipment. As hyperscale cloud providers continue expanding AI capacity, spending on critical digital infrastructure has remained a major tailwind for companies supplying thermal management, power distribution and backup power systems.

The modest reduction in the price target appears to reflect valuation adjustments following the stock's strong performance rather than a deterioration in Vertiv's underlying business fundamentals. The company remains one of the key beneficiaries of the ongoing global AI infrastructure buildout.

What to Watch

Investors will closely monitor Vertiv's upcoming earnings report for updates on order growth, backlog, margins and customer demand from hyperscale data center operators. Management's commentary on AI-related infrastructure spending, capacity expansion and future revenue guidance will remain key catalysts for the stock.
