Brookfield Asset Management (BAM) Q1 2026: Earnings Beat, Stock Gains 1.8%

Brookfield Asset Management is up 1.8% today after reporting a strong first quarter that beat on key metrics and raised confidence in its full-year trajectory.

Fee-related earnings rose 11% year-over-year to $772 million, or $0.48 per share, while over the last twelve months FRE grew 18% to $3.1 billion. Distributable earnings came in at $702 million, up from $654 million a year ago. Net income attributable to BAM reached $617 million for the quarter.

The fundraising numbers are the real headline. BAM pulled in $21 billion in Q1 alone and $67 billion year-to-date — already more than half of what it raised in all of 2025. Fee-bearing capital grew 12% year-over-year to $614 billion, powered by $108 billion of fundraising over the past twelve months. The firm deployed or committed $34 billion during the quarter across infrastructure, real estate, credit, and private equity, while monetizing $8 billion of mature investments at strong valuations.

CEO Connor Teskey struck a notably bullish tone, saying 2026 is expected to be "a very strong year, with growth exceeding long-term targets." Both the infrastructure and private equity flagship funds currently in market are on track to be their largest vintages ever. A standout post-quarter development: BAM was awarded a mandate to manage $40 billion of insurance assets from the newly acquired Just Group in the U.K., adding roughly $100 million in annual base fee revenue.

The board also declared a quarterly dividend of $0.5025 per share, payable June 30. BAM repurchased $575 million of its own shares year-to-date, signaling management's confidence in the valuation.

With $137 billion of uncalled fund commitments and $2.5 billion of corporate liquidity, BAM enters the rest of 2026 with significant firepower to capitalize on any market dislocation — a story the market is clearly buying today.
