Republic Services and the San Pablo have launched California’s first fully electric residential recycling and waste collection fleet, marking a major step in emissions reduction and sustainable urban services. The fleet includes five electric trucks designed with zero tailpipe emissions and enhanced safety features such as 360-degree cameras and automated braking systems.
The initiative supports San Pablo’s climate goals, including reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 30% by 2035, while also improving air quality and lowering noise levels. Republic Services noted that the rollout aligns with its broader electrification strategy, with more than 200 electric collection vehicles already in operation across the United States.
