Microchip Technology has expanded its microcontroller portfolio with new Configurable Logic Block (CLB)-based devices designed to simplify system design and improve performance in timing-critical applications. The new PIC16F13276 and PIC18-Q35 families integrate programmable logic and embedded control into a single chip, reducing latency, cost, and design complexity.

The devices enable hardware-based logic execution, improving predictability and power efficiency compared to software-driven solutions, while also reducing the need for multi-chip designs. This approach allows engineers to streamline development in applications such as industrial automation, motor control, and automotive safety systems.

Microchip said the new microcontrollers are compatible with existing designs and supported by its development ecosystem, helping accelerate adoption and reduce time to market.
