Fujitsu and Japanese startup BULL have signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop a high-precision space situational awareness (SSA) service aimed at improving the monitoring of space debris and supporting safer space operations. The initiative is intended to help establish a de facto standard for space traffic management as orbital congestion increases.

The collaboration will combine BULL’s data collection capabilities, including its “HORN” device designed to prevent satellites and rockets from becoming debris, with Fujitsu’s expertise in large-scale data processing and orbital analysis. Together, the companies plan to build a comprehensive service covering satellite tracking, collision risk analysis, and operational support.

The move comes amid rapid growth in satellite deployments, which has heightened the risk of collisions in orbit. Fujitsu and BULL said the partnership aims to contribute to safer, more sustainable space activities while supporting the development of effective space traffic management systems.
