PNC Financial Services reported first-quarter net income of $1.8 billion, with diluted earnings per share of $4.13, or $4.32 on an adjusted basis.
Revenue rose 2% to $6.2 billion, supported by a 6% increase in net interest income to $4.0 billion, while the net interest margin improved to 2.95%. Loan growth remained strong, with average loans rising 7% and deposits increasing 4%, partly driven by the recent acquisition of FirstBank.
Expenses increased due to integration costs related to the acquisition, while fee income declined slightly. The bank maintained a solid capital position with a CET1 ratio of 10.1% and returned $1.4 billion to shareholders through dividends and buybacks.
PNC said client activity remains robust and highlighted continued momentum following the completion of the FirstBank acquisition earlier in the year.
