L3Harris Technologies and Xoople have announced a collaboration to develop a next-generation spaceborne Earth measurement system designed for the artificial intelligence era. The initiative aims to overcome longstanding trade-offs between precision, scale, and timeliness in Earth observation by delivering highly accurate, globally consistent data at unprecedented levels.

The project centers on a satellite constellation capable of producing measurement data up to 100 times more advanced than current standards, forming what the companies describe as a reliable “system of record” for the physical world. This enhanced data infrastructure is intended to support AI-driven decision-making across governments and enterprises.

L3Harris will contribute advanced imaging payloads and systems engineering expertise, drawing on its experience in major space missions such as Hubble and the James Webb Space Telescope. Xoople will complement this with its background in commercial Earth observation and AI-enabled data processing.

Both companies emphasize that as AI systems increasingly guide real-world decisions, the demand for highly accurate and scalable Earth data is becoming critical, positioning precise measurement capabilities as a strategic advantage in a rapidly changing global environment.
