L3Harris Technologies is accelerating the production of satellite propulsion systems using additive manufacturing, aiming to significantly reduce delivery timelines for national security space assets.

The company is leveraging 3D printing technologies to manufacture key thruster components, cutting traditional production times—typically around 18 months—by up to 12 months. These advancements support faster deployment and replenishment of satellites critical to defense operations.

L3Harris noted that additively manufactured components are already flight-proven and are being scaled for broader use, including applications in rocket engines. The initiative reflects growing demand for rapid, flexible space manufacturing capabilities in response to evolving security challenges.
