Microchip Technology announced it has achieved IEC 62443-4-1 Maturity Level 2 (ML2) certification for industrial automation and control systems, validating its secure product development processes.
The certification, issued by UL Solutions, confirms that Microchip follows a structured and independently verified secure development lifecycle, covering areas such as threat modeling, secure design, testing, and long-term vulnerability management.
The company said the milestone strengthens customer confidence by reducing cybersecurity risks across hardware and software systems, while also supporting compliance with emerging regulations such as the EU Cyber Resilience Act.
Microchip emphasized that the certification demonstrates its commitment to “secure by design” principles, helping customers streamline security evaluations and accelerate deployment of connected technologies across industrial and commercial environments.
