Microchip launches automotive-grade hybrid MCU for advanced vehicle interfaces

March 24, 2026 — Microchip Technology introduced a new automotive-qualified System-in-Package (SiP) hybrid microcontroller, designed to support advanced human-machine interface (HMI) applications in vehicles and e-mobility systems.

The SAM9X75D5M integrates a processor and memory into a single package, enabling higher performance and simplified design for applications such as digital dashboards, EV chargers, and smart vehicle control systems. The device supports large displays up to 10 inches and offers multiple connectivity options, including Ethernet, USB, and CAN.

By combining microprocessor capabilities with a microcontroller development environment, the solution aims to reduce design complexity, improve supply reliability, and accelerate time to market for automotive developers.

Microchip said the product addresses growing demand for sophisticated in-vehicle displays and user experiences, while ensuring long-term reliability and compliance with automotive standards.
