Fujitsu announced that its traffic simulation system has been adopted in Maebashi City’s regional public transportation plan, supporting efforts to modernize and optimize local transit systems in Japan.

The system, developed under a government-backed digital transformation project, enables simulation of both fixed-route and demand-responsive transport—marking a first in Japan—and provides data-driven insights to support policies such as expanding bus routes.

Leveraging AI and digital twin technology, the solution helps forecast travel demand and evaluate policy impacts, reducing planning time by about 25% and aiding the development of sustainable, efficient transportation networks.
